Aurora Aksnes, born June 15 1995 in Stavanger and is professionally known as Aurora sometimes stylized in uppercase in the form of AURORA is a Norwegian singer and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves is a May 2015 release by Decca Records. It has received high praise from the blogs and the press. She has previously released two top-of-the-line covers Half the World Away by the group Oasis for a Christmas advertisement by John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Katy Perry, who endorsed the track Runaway with her voice, also gave the song a boost of recognition. Enjoy her day. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories involve finding a piano hidden in the attic of her home, and being captivated by the sound it made. Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. He urged her not to pursue music solely for pleasure or for the sake of development but instead, she should take it seriously. In the end, she began writing her own music. Bjork as well as Leonard Cohen are among her favourite composers. In response to her mother's advice that people shouldn't be trying to be famous through her songwriting, but instead realize the importance of themselves and their impact on society. She started playing piano at the age of six, and began making music when she was 9 years old. This was not known by her family until she reached the age of fourteen. Aurora wasn't a dream. She says she just likes creating music. The music she composes is the way that she feels any thing.
